Community Infrastructure Levy - CIL

Introduction

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a way of raising money for new community facilities.  This consultation document explains the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s approach to CIL.  It explains how much we intend to charge, and the types of development which will be charged.  It looks at: 

        •  What CIL is, and how it can be used.
        •  Where the money comes from.
        •  How much we could raise.

The consultation runs from 23rd January to 20th February 2013.  Comments on this document should be made on-line by following the link below, via email to CIL@rbkc.gov.uk or in writing to:

In particular we would like to hear your views on:

        •   The proposed CIL rates – have we set them at the right level?
        •   What will the impact on development be?
        •   Are the types of development being charged the right ones?

A further public consultiaons on CIL Draft Charging Schudule will be caried out during the summer.
