Draft Lexham Gardens Conservation Area Appraisal

The Draft Lexham Gardens Conservation Area Appraisal outlines the historic and architectural significance of the Lexham Gardens Conservation Area and describes its character and appearance. The Council has a statutory duty to preserve or enhance the character or appearance of conservation areas and this document will assist the Council in undertaking the duty.

The character of a conservation area is defined by a combination of architecture, materials and detailing as well as the relationship between buildings and their settings. Many other elements contribute to character such as the placement of buildings within their plots; views and vistas; the relationship between the street and the buildings and the presence of trees and green space.

The consultation will run from Tuesday 7 February 2017 to 11:59pm Tuesday 21 March 2017.

The consultation document and an on-line response form can be found on the links below.

Note: This consultation is NOT concerned with the designation of a new conservation area. The Council asks for views on an appraisal that describes the character and appearance of areas which have already been designated.

This consultation has now closed.
