I appreciate that we are right at the deadline for comments, but would like to explain that in the first place, despite being a Residents' Association properly registered with the Council, we can find no record of receiving a specific written approach from you in September last year asking for answers to what we can see from your website was your list of questions to Residents' Associations at that stage. Our principal comment is that while most of the proposed changes to previous policy are welcome, the suggested maximum limit of 75% of a garden for the extent to which a basement should be allowed to beconstructed under it (Policy reference CL7 a, Text reference 34.3.59) is in the opinion of our residents too high. A figure of 50% would in our view be more than generous, regardless of soil type. This view is based on both drainage considerations and planting/tree root considerations. Whatever ma
